Know Before You Go
What we provide
- Depending on your pile, we provide tools, buckets and running water (see descriptions)
- Port-o-pottys on site
- Picnic area with shade and grill
What we recommend
- Gloves, goggles, closed toed shoes (required)
- Weather appropriate gear (poncho, ran boots) We dig rain or shine!
- Food and water, as you will be digging through the lunch hour
Time Frame
- All events begin at 9:30a and end at 1:30p, please give yourself plenty of time to find the location and get settled in, but keep in mind the gates are not opened until 9a
- We are located in EST, please be aware if you are coming from WI there is a time change!
Location
- There is no address associated with the mine. Please consult the map below.
- The last 2 miles of road is considered both an ATV trail and a heavy-duty equipment zone
- Watch out for loaders and machinery, as well as 4-wheelers and ATVs
- The road is maintained routinely, but watch out for sharp rocks
- We do recommend driving a large SUV or truck
- If you come in a small car, drive slow and steady
Additional Information
- We are able to cut and polish most specimens that you find in your pile!
- This is a cash only service and dependent on the cutter’s availability

We require 48 hours notice to prepare your reservation.
During the season, we are open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Looking to visit on another day of the week? We offer 'Pick Your Own Day' bookings for a $75 fee depending on the availability of our staff. Please call for more details.
